Queer Panic

Artistic and Managing Director of SURGE Theatre has written an exciting new play which is currently in development. This two-act sapphic dramedy critiques heteronormativity, and compulsory monogamy while exploring and celebrating Queer joy and polyamorous identities. The complex narrative follows two women over ten years. The story is grounded in sensuality, honesty, and tenderness – and a healthy dose of outrageous comedy.

This workshop is produced by SURGE Theatre and funded by the Ontario Arts Council, featuring Lisa Alves (Playwright, Producer); Yolanda Bonnell (Director), Emerjade Simms, Maev Beaty, Kiana Woo, and Jack Copland (Performers), Wei Qing Tan (Stage Manager), Tanisha Taitt (Dramaturge), and Samantha Vu (Production Assistant).
